Thinking about the beach...in a snow storm

Here is my shell drawing: I hope everyone survived the blizzard this weekend. I have spent a lot of time over the weekend working on building the muscles in my mannequin. I am almost done! So many little intricate muscles....

  1. I told you when were having peer critiques that I loved how bold yours was. The orange colors are beautiful and really go along with the "sunset on a beach" theme. It's something I can't help but think about when looking at it. Im so excited to see how your final one will be. We both have made great strides from our first shell drawing. Reminder about any advice, is that there should be more of a long axis angle. It seems to easy yet, I still dont think I myself have achieved it.

  2. The color in your shell drawing are very interesting. Did you use more than the black and another color, assuming your main one was orange? Aside from the orange you have a good variety of what looks like red and brown in the painting as well. Very successful piece, nice job!

  3. I really love the colors you used! They're so vibrant and give the shell a wonderful shape. The only part that bothers me is the area under the shell, but that's about it.

  4. Nice job on your shell, It does indeed remind me of a shell washed up on the beach being lit by the setting sun. Your shading is great and works well in giving the drawing a sense of realism.

  5. I really really love the colors in this shell. They're such bright colors and it reminds me of a shell you would want to find on a beach. I think it turned out great!
